Laboratory Support
Advantec Engineering owns and operates sophisticated laboratory equipment for analysis and testing of a wide variety of materials.

Equipment includes:
  • JEOL 5800 Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
  • Bruker X-Flash Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) System
  • Quorum Technologies Sputter Coater
  • Unitron Versamet Optical Metallograph
  • Nikon Stereo Microscopes
  • Wilson Microhardness Tester
The JEOL 5800 SEM has a large chamber and is capable of accommodating specimens up to 8 inches in diameter and 1.5 inches thick.

The Optical Metallograph is equipped with Nomarski Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) which uses a series of prisms and polarizing filters to enhance the contrast of images. It can be used to reveal structures in specimens without etching.

Advantec Engineering can provide web based conference viewing of SEM/EDS, Optical and Stereo Microscopy in real time. This allows interaction and test direction to be provided by remote viewers. SEM/EDS analysis and optical imaging equipment are available on a per specimen or hourly basis.
